The 3rd Birthday: The Movie is an 2018 CGI-horror flim based on the Square-Enix game of the same name. It was released in Japan first and then the United States.

Synopsis[]

The movie is set in the city of New York City, in which the Twisted have been killing humanity by the millions to feed on bodies. Aya Brea volunteers her efforts and special abilities to survive and overcome the apocalypse before humanity reaches extinction, working with the military, scientists and key figures. Using her Overdive ability, Aya travels into the past to alter the outcome of battles against the creatures. Rated R for strong language, intense violence, a scene of sexual content, and nudity.

The movie begins with the same introduction from PE2. Aya explains that after the Shelter Incident, she, Kyle and Eve are living peacefully at the New York borough of Manhattan.

Trivia[]

  • The movie also have several scenes that is not in the game (including differences to the same scenes from the game):
    • The movie begins with an introduction on how life is going for Aya, Eve and Kyle as they live in their normal lives after the NMC Incident in 2000.
    • A scene where Kyle asks Aya to marry him, in which she agrees on Valentine's Day in 2008. This also includes a scene of sexual content.
    • The day of the wedding and moments before Time Zero event.
    • The shower scene is slightly uncensored (Aya's breasts can be seen fully and a new part where her buttocks can be seen) which caused the rating to be raise up.
    • Eve's flashback to her days at the State University of New York in 2008. It also includes Emily's flashback to well.

The 3rd Birthday: The Movie is released around the world shortly after the US release, but there are several scenes that is either edited and/or cut in some countries.

Germany[]

  • The shower scene is removed in the theater release in order to have the rating to be FSK 16, but the scene is in the uncut version on DVD (the rating is FSK 18).
