Controversies[]
Tournament Doofus has seen a few controversies throughout its airtime, all having something to do with the show being more adult-oriented.
- In the episode, Oh, Cousin?, the opening scene shows Jerry and Muscles getting drunk, which invoked serious controversy among parents, one even sued Disney an $1 million dollar lawsuit in October 2031, resulting in the episode to be pulled for a few days, but put back in due to backlash.

Trivia[]
- This series serves as a prologue to the 2030 film Steven Universe: The Tournament.
- When the show's first season aired on Cartoon Network on August 4, 2032, the theme song was heavily edited to match Cartoon Network. The "Disney+ Original" logo was cut, along with the opening scene where Mickey announces the beginning of the show, leaving the song to begin at Mickey saying "ACTION!!!". Along with that, fifteen seconds where cut from the song to make the forty-five second song thirty seconds and the Disney byline was edited out. The change received heavy criticism from fans, with many calling it "poorly edited".
- The show features many recognizable characters from cartoons and animated films, sometimes as cameos.
