This movie is a reboot to Tim Story's take on the Fantastic Four and is set in the X-Men universe.
Plot[]
Recovering from a freak accident that gives them powers, four people go different ways. The married couple of Reed Richards and Sue Storm let their leper friend Ben Grimm live with them and Sue's brother. After a terrorist attack near their city, Johnny fights them off and is known as "The Human Torch". He encourages his fellow roomates to join him to become famous and loved for protecting New York. Mentioning the success of the X-Men, they speak to Victor Von Doom, an expert on how to deal with using your powers. After they agree on becoming superheroes, a new villain named Doctor Doom bombs Grand Central Station. Revealing he is Von Doom, he contacts someone named "The Boss" for advice. Reed tracks down his call to Latveria and find a digital plane ticket on Von Doom's phone to Latveria. They go undercover on an Air Latveria plane. On the plane, chaos ensues. Sue accidentally becomes invisible in plain sight, Ben is annoyed by 2 identical twin boys and Johnny flirts with a girl he meets named Alicia Masters. Von Doom then walks up, grabs a parachute and jumps out of the plane. The four jump after him and attack. Landing in Latveria, they defeat Doctor Doom, learn his identity and then see "The Boss" walk up to them. She is revealed to be an old Emma Frost, looking to aid Doom on his rise to power after her plan with the Hellfire Club failed. Frost and Doom are incarcerated and the four are praised as heroes.
In a post-credits scene, Erik Lensherr merges with Apocalypse.
