Calamity is a 2003 crime comedy film directed by Carl Andy and written by Simon Kinberg. the film stars Daniel Craig and Milla Jovovich as a former crime couple who are recruited by the FBI to take on a Mafia Godfather. Informaly, it is the third and final installment in what Andy refers to as his "New York Trilogy", preceded by The Big Arena (1964) and Toby (1975).
Produced by Revolution Studios and Spyglass Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing via Columbia Pictures and Buena Vista International in some areas, the film received mixed reviews, but was praised for the acting and the witty dialogue.
Title change[]
Originally the film was meant to be titled "Calamity in New York" and was intended for a 2002 release, however following the September 11th attacks, the film was delayed with certain scenes changed and reshot to avoid connections, Andy supported the decision feeling it would help develop the film better and he admitted he wasn't a fan of the original title.
